The party was held to donate 1 euro per meal to OKAPI to support them in their endeavour to improve the life of animals and plants on Fuerteventura, to lobby for a pet crematorium and ... to have a good time. And the hell we had!!! What started with a sleepy Chef (watch Rolands face, hahaha) turned into a dammed cool night. With inspiring drinks, super jummy food made on the state-of-the-art, gas-operated, easy-to-handle and idiot-proof BBQ BORETTI and the crowd in front of or behind the bar the evening popped as things got wild. Look at the shots and see what a "ambiente" we were in... The party went on till the little hours and the question at the end was who's gonna let the dog out? Marcus and Roland really did a great job! Thanks for coming and for your donations and for those who missed out: see you around next time in U-Turn!

It is the first Festival of its kind in Corralejo with a successful combination of crafts, games, education, acrobatics, music and food & drinks.
The event started slowly due to the very high temperatures, but once it cooled down, the initiative enjoyed a great success. Amongst all the fun for kids and adults, some highlights to mention were the donkey ride, the acrobatics (ACRO-D-ARTE) with breathtaking moves, the flamethrowers (A.C. Fuertemovimiento) and Le Caravan (Manouche). The latter performance really got the public so hysteric that they wouldn’t be allowed to stop playing. Especially the bluesy violin solo at the end got the audience in trance.
In short, it’s a truly excellent concept that merits a sequence. Just be there next time!
On the night of 05/08 Anna Villacampa, the famous Flamenco dancer, performed in the new Blue Jazz Bar in Corralejo, situated in the street to Waikiki. Although Anna has her reputation of an excellent Flamenco dancer, she manages to surprise her audience every time. And this time she did it again… If you can’t meet passion on holiday, then where would you? Anna certainly could show you one way, in case you might have lost it… In brief, Anna is a MUST. >Slideshow Pictures: (C) Spirit of Fuerteventura
María Carracedo is from Castilla y Léon, North of Spain and lives on the Canary Islands since 10 years. Already very early she got interested in painting and learned various techniques in the Academy of Fine Arts of Bilbao. She creates in pastel, aquarelle, and collages, but her real strength is oil based paintings. > See Slideshow
The party started with free drinks which “oiled” the atmosphere. Once the crowd got into the mood, nothing could stop them. These are the pictures that passed the control of good behaviour… Enjoy them! >Slideshow
Blue Jazz Bar: the opening of a trendy bar with live music was on the 15th of July. Many people attended - young and older - and really enjoyed the great atmosphere. You can find the bar in a side street of the Corralejo mainstreet; turn in at the restaurant Poco Loco and go in the direction of Waikiki. It's on your left-hand side.
The annual Cocktail Party & Gourmet Dinner at El Patio de Lajares was, again, an exclusive event and a culinary experience. The scenery, the mouth-watering delicacies, the drinks and wines, and the service… it all came to harmony and made this evening unforgettable. At the end of the evening Rainer disclosed with gestures some of his secrets on how he managed to create these wonderful dishes… look at the pictures, enjoy them… and make sure you offer yourself a seat at the next occasion.
OKAPI is regularly organising a second-hand market in Parque Holandés and in Puerto del Rosario. The atmosphere is friendly, cosy and relaxed. With a bit of luck and patience you might find that particular item you were looking for a long time and… at bargain prices.
Craftsmen from all the islands are united in this event. On display are ancient crafts till the very latest state-of-the-art, all brought together to please the general public.
