Dear Reader – visitor or resident – the Spirit Team wishes you and your family an enjoyable 2nd half of 2014. Traditionally, this time of the year offers several popular events like the Int'l Open Deep Sea Fishing contest, Coast-to-Coast running. Lobos-Corralejo swim contest, FudeNaS Biking, Int'l ½ Marathon Dunas de Fuerteventura, Int'l Kite Festival, etc. So, plenty of opportunities to enjoy: for those who want to participate and let their muscles work and for those who want to see others sweat.
Another event, worth mentioning, is stargazing. With a bit of luck (in a dark area and with no clouds), you will be able to see our galaxy, the Milky Way, some planets and maybe even shooting stars.

And for the little ones who cannot stay out of bed so late, there still is the impressive sunset to enjoy.
Besides visiting the villages of Fuerteventura, other places to visit that are representative for the island are the Turtle Farm in the harbour of Morro Jable, the Botanical Garden in La Lajita and the Salt Museum "Las Salinas", close to Caleta de Fuste. The Turtle Farm is a governmental initiative to re-introduce sea-turtles on Fuerteventura, a long term vision that merits recognition by paying a visit.
For those who are keen to discover the island by foot, we have a dedicated website to supply all the necessary info about more than 30 different hiking tacks. At hot days, it is recommendable to select tracks along the West side of the island, close to the shore, as you will benefit from the cooling winds that come from the Atlantic.
And for those who just want to lay back and relax, but still are curious about how the island looks alike, there is the possibility to enjoy high-quality photographic impressions at the crafts market in El Campanario – Corralejo on Sunday.
