Dear reader - visitor or resident - congratulations! You made it through the 1st half of the difficult year 2012... and now you're here to enjoy your well-deserved holiday or, for the residents, the best half of the year: many visitors, long days, nice temperatures and lukewarm sea water. But, during August - October, there is a lot more to go for on this lovely island and it doesn't have to cost you an arm and a leg:
- Our annual impressive meteor showers in our pitch black skies, if you take the effort to go out on a remote place (see further on our BiDi - Fuerteventura page),
- Try our local specialities: Goat cheese, gofio, papas arrugadas, tomatoes from Tiscamanita, Fuerteventura Olive oil, grilled peppers, mojo sauce, and last but not least the fresh local fish, grilled or from the oven in a salt crust,
- Sportive events: Kayak, Biking, Int'l Open Deep Sea Fishing, Coast 2 Coast, Lobos - Corralejo swim contest, FudeNaS Biking, Int'l 1/2 Marathon Dunas de Fuerteventura, MTB Marathon. (see www.fuertebook.com),
- Hiking & Biking on off-track roads to enjoy nature, views, rolling waves... and silence.
- and, of course, the traditional "Places-to-Visit" which are briefly described in this magazine and in more detail on our website www.spiritoffuerteventura.com
