Most dive bases have boats, supply full equipment and provide interesting information about marine life. You can get lessons to your next level or speciality courses. Most schools follow the PADI system but other training systems like CMAS, CEDIP, NAUI & BARAKUDA are also available. Some centres have the possibility to experience Nitrox diving. Safety gets the highest priority."

Marea Viva, the Surf, Dive and Sunset hotel in El Cotillo is located at the same place where once the old house of the legendary “Mamma Maria” was. Mama Mariquita Hierro received in 1983 a gold medal for her efforts to promote local tourism. She started 60 years ago to cook in her house for the tourists who also came into her living room to take a rest. Every day she cooked the same food - soup, fish stew and the real “Gofio”. The hotel has been run by a Spanish family since.
