( 1 Vote )

Walk on the ancient Camel road to the heights of Montaña Escanfraga, 529m altitude.

If you fancy a medium-heavy walk to the old grain cultivation areas on the crater Montaña Escanfraga in Villaverde, then this might be the right choice. You will be collected at your hotel or apartment complex and will be driven to Villaverde.

The climbing is smooth as you will follow for about 90 mins a serpentine track. On the top you will be rewarded with astonishing views over Corralejo, Lobos, Lanzarote, the dunes, Mount Tindaya and about 20 old volcanoes. You can see the villages of Villaverde, La Oliva, Lajares and El Cotillo. And in the South you may see more villages as well as thousands of old terrace agricultural fields. The views reach till the mountains in the middle of the island. And whilst you are enjoying all this, your guide gives you more details on the local fauna and flora. A picnic will be enjoyed in the crater and adds to the cosy atmosphere. On the way back you will visit a local pub where you can have light refreshments or a very welcome cool glass of beer.

Cueva del Llano: The volcano has created a lava tunnel about 1 million years ago. You will visit this tunnel also.
