What to expect.
Due to the unique topography of Fuerteventura with low mountains, the island has little rainfall. As a consequence of this there is little vegetation and one can easily observe the original geography. Therefore, Fuerteventura - with an estimated age of about 20 million years being the oldest of all Canary Islands - is regarded as a geologist's paradise with still many rock formations as they were created. Fuerteventura has striking locations with molten lava rock, steep cliffs, massive hills of granite, filled up mountain cracks, volcanoes of all ages going from 2 million to only 5 thousand years, lava tunnels, wind-swept sand dunes, wave-beaten caves, sun-scorched badlands (malpaises) ... and relaxing beaches.

Some tracks might look short, but because of their elevation profile or because of the fact that they run most of the time through areas without cooling winds, they will be challenging and thus get a higher difficulty level.
